“My father loved sports and watching his kids play sports. As a kid, I started playing sports young. Every time I went to training and every time I went to a game, my dad said the very same thing to me, “Matthew, listen to your coach.” My dad never forgot to remind me to listen to my coach. At one point I finally asked him, “Dad why do you always remind me to listen to your coach?”

He said to me, “Because nobody achieves excellence at anything without coaching. You can get good at something just by working hard, but excellence or peak performance, being the best you can-that doesn’t happen without coaching.”
